Talk 1 - An overview of Scotland's Open Data provision: what's happening with the Open Government Partnership Scotland Plans; an update from Aberdeen City Council on local open data and more. You'll find out how these lead into the Scottish Open Data Unconference in Aberdeen on 14 - 15 March.
Talk 2 - Kevin Mulhern of 57 North Data Lab on the Air Aberdeen Project. Started in 2019, the project is to launch a high number of community-built and hosted sensors across the city which generate open data on pollutants, humidity, temperature and air pressure. We expect to announce a major investment in the network at the Data Meetup,
Talk 3 - Ian Watt of Code The City: Using Wikidata and associated tools to capture and make queryable the local history of Aberdeen. He will give a brief overview of how WikiData works, show some examples of recent projects, and show how to query the data and use that for other projects. He will also show how this links to CTC19 in April which will be launched soon and longer-term collaboration with the cultural sector in Aberdeen.
All three talks will highlight how you can get involved, contribute data, support the projects, and use data to better understand the city in which you live and work.
