Talk One:
"Would you share your medical data?" - Euan Blackledge of Sopra Steria
As part of an EU funded research grant, Serums - www.serums-smartpatient.eu, is attempting to do to medical data what open banking is doing for financial data.
For its data lake, they are looking at creating a layer of data stored in a Data Vault structure, allowing for changes to be applied throughout the course of the project. The structure of the Data Vault itself will be driven by the extraction of metadata by AI.
This session will walk through the project's initial plans for this.
Bio: Euan is a software developer for Sopra Steria. Currently he is the lead developer on one of the work packages for the Serums project. A JavaScript fiend, Euan is currently knee deep in Python, Hadoop, AWS, and React Native to bring the project to life.

Talk Two:
"The Aberdeen Air Quality Project: progress to date, and what's next?"
The project has been ongoing for 4 months. It is already the biggest Scottish citizen science open data project. How many sensors are live, and what data are they producing? How many more will be added? What will you do with the data? What insights might it produce? How does it compare to official data? Are the local authority involved? What about the NHS Grampian? Transport? How can you build / host your own sensor? How can your company sponsor more devices (as Converged Comms and Codify have done)?
All that and lots more will be shared on the night.
