Blazor and Web Assembly are both relatively new ideas. Or are they? WebAssembly has been around for a lot longer than you might think, and running .NET in the browser isn't a new idea either - who remembers SilverLight?
Jamie will cover a little of the history of front end technologies - going all the way back to the first browser to support CSS, and coming back to the present day - before diving into just what WebAssembly is, and how Blazor, Mono and .NET Core fit in.
he will show off a demo application that he has built using Umbraco Headless, and run all of the code for the application entirely in the browser. he'll also talk about the benefits and pitfalls of running .NET code in your browser.

About the speaker:
Tom is a Solutions Architect and Developer responsible for producing Splunk apps and add-ons for various platforms such as Azure DevOps and GitLab. A developer for nearly 10 years, Tom applies his experience to create new integrations and stretch the platform beyond it's current capabilities.
Tom started using Splunk as recently as 2018, releasing over half a dozen apps to Splunkbase, amassing over 600 downloads. At the end of 2018 he managed to advance to an Architect role; working for Splunk Partner: Converging Data

Tom will run a live demo showing how easy it is to get data into Splunk from any application and highlight some of the benefits on offer in doing so. This will include some of his own real-world experiences including:

• Providing valuable analytics around the use of any program
