Scotland Data Science & Technology MeetUp: Communication is King - Winter is Coming: The Real Role of Insight in a Big.....

We have a new venue - The University of Edinburgh- F.21 (7 George Square)

Presentation 1: ‘Communication is King!’

Merkle's David Thomas and Andreas Liljeberg discuss how companies can get better at talking to their customers by actually getting to know them first, and then communicating with them in a way that recognises their preferences and previous behaviour.

In this presentation, David and Andreas discuss the limitations of the one-size-fits-all attitude to communication and what approaches are open to businesses as they seek to improve customer engagement. Whilst perfection is unobtainable, continuous improvement can reap significant benefits through successfully reaching and engaging with more customers to create the best possible interactions and grow lasting relationships.

Presentation 2: ‘Winter is Coming: The Real Role of Insight in a Big Data Future’

The future is big data – indeed, the future’s already here!

Does that mean that traditional ways of garnering research and insight are dead? Is mining big data for knowledge the sole way, truth and light from now on? Should businesses be dispensing with their traditional research and insight teams and promoting their data scientists?

And just what does this mean for customer strategy?
