The first SheffieldML meetup.
We'll start with lightning talks (short, 5-10 minute long talks). If you'd like to speak you're welcome to tell your machine learning story, talk about a great learning resource or technique you found, or descibe where you used machine learning to solve a problem.
Then we'll take a look at Kaggle's Titanic tutorial problem. We might not complete the exercise, but we'll aim to make sure you can continue on your own.
Where and When? We're looking to open doors at 6:30pm, and start the talks at 6:45. If you're late that's totally fine. Venue TBC but will be Sheffield within easy walking distance of the train station.
What do I need? You'll need a laptop to take part in the Titanic tutorial. Python or R are the typical languages used in the tutorial - you're welcome to use your language of choice though.
Is it beginner-friendly? Yes.
But I'm an expert? It'd be great if you could speak and help coach beginners, we'll make sure there's space and opportunity to meet other more experienced people and play with more advanced topics.
