Presentation 2 - How data is shaping smart cities -

Rapid urbanisation
Cities are the powerhouses of the world’s economy. With more than half of the world’s population now living in cities, business is taking full advantage of the opportunities this creates.
But there are also challenges: How do businesses optimise their operations for each city? How does government shape cities to make them more efficient? How can citizens help to create a more livable city?
We believe that unlocking data is part of solution to these challenges and last year, UrbanTide launched USMART, a next-generation data platform built for real-time data and smart cities. USMART enables organisations to integrate, analyse and ultimately open up their data to build smart communities.
Our presentation will be in 2 parts:
● The 1st part will explore the rapid urbanisation of the world and why we need smart cities. And how businesses, government and citizens can work together to create more livable cities and drive change from the bottom up.
Presented by Pippa Gardner - UrbanTide’s CEO -
https://uk.linkedin.com/in/pippagardner
● The 2nd part will explore the role of data in cities and what the future holds in terms of real-time data, integration, sharing and monetisation. This session will go into more technical detail about how cities manage their data - and will give you a sneak peak into USMART our next generation data sharing platform.
