This month we are continuing our series of practical coding sessions by pitting swarms of software robots in combat against each other!
No developers will be harmed over the course of this meeting. This event is intended to be suitable for beginners to the Python language and we will be splitting the group into pairs for this challenge.
The schedule for the evening will be something like:
17:45 - 18:15: Informally, a number of us are likely to be at StreetFoodChef for burritos. While these are not provided as part of attending, anyone is welcome to join us.
18:30 - 18:45: Socialising time at UnionSt and splitting into groups.
18:45 - 18:50: A brief overview of how to program your bots.
18:50 - 20:20: Bot programming
20:20 - 20:30: Bot vs bot matches.
20:30 - late: Migrate to a local pub for post event drinks. Note that this part of the evening is probably not suitable for any children to join in with, depending on the pub. Of late this has generally been the Tap and Tankard, near John Lewis.
Attendance is free and the event is intended to be suitable for all levels of python experience. If you'd like to attend this meeting, it is advisable to bring a laptop. Any under 18s who wish to attend must be accompanied by an adult, preferably also with an interest in Python so they can enjoy themselves too.
Code of Conduct:
We uphold the PSF code of conduct: www.python.org
You should report any concerns about attendee and speaker behaviour to the organiser, Gary Martin.
