This year JavaScript got a new version: formerly known as "harmony", and then "ES6", the final name will now be "ES2015".
We'll discuss how and why that happened, and how the mysterious TC39 was involved.
I'll show off the new features, including syntax and APIs. I'll look at how you can use it today, via browser support and the amazing antipodean Babel compiler.
I'll also talk about what's next for JavaScript, as it attempts to move to a "release train" model, and what that means for those of us who just want to write JavaScript.
