Green software is software that is responsible for emitting fewer greenhouse gases. The Green Software Foundation has defined a number of principles that are important to understand when creating software, as well as a calculation that enables us to measure the emissions of our software. We’ll discuss the principles and the challenges, as well as looking at how we can measure emissions.

Simon is a Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft. He works with companies to help them understand and use the cloud. His background is application development and solution architecture, and he joined Microsoft just before .Net was release and he’s been working with Azure since it was Red Dog.
