π What did I learn trying to migrate teams from legacy to modern?
I spent an incredible amount of time doing migrations and transformations (on both process and technologies), as a consultant for most of my career but also inside a product company, bringing ALM, Agile and then DevOps to people varying from who was willing to change and who just wanted to retain their 20 years old habits.
The amount of lessons I learned is massive, not just about technology itself β that changes at the speed of light β but about how to deal with change in an organization.
This is not going to be a technical session β far from it β but instead it will be a short collection of some of the most striking experiences I had since I first heard about Software Engineering.
Letβs move to pipelines as code, itβs about time!
We started with CI, then we introduced Configuration Management, evolved towards Infrastructure as Code β but we still lag behind on pipelines, we are too reliant on the tools we use and we donβt really apply the best practices of the industry.
Is it difficult to move to Pipelines as Code? What should I do to start the journey? If I am already there, what can I do to make it scale at an organizational level?
These questions (and many more!) will find answers in this session, shedding light on how and why we should move to Pipelines as Code and the benefits that come out of this migration.

Due to the current environmental situation after the online event, we'll be heading off to the "virtual bar". Feel free to come along, and have a chat, this will be a different Zoom meeting to the main event and the link will be given out on the night to stop "zoombombing".
