ABOUT OUR GUEST SPEAKER – Paul Atkinson
Paul is a professional investor, venture capitalist and board advisor with a substantial track record of creating value for companies in the technology and services sector and taking them to a successful exit.

Paul had started three previous businesses: Head Resourcing, which was founded in 2001 (2017 turnover – £65 million); Direct Resources, which was acquired by NASDAQ listed iGate Corporation in 1999; and RecruitmentScotland.com, which was acquired by another NASDAQ listed business, TMP Worldwide, in 2000.

He has founded, invested in, and advised businesses within, Technology, Business and IT Services, achieving successful exits for more than 20 businesses.

He is a founding partner of the investment business, Par Equity, which provides EIS investment opportunities in the technology space as well as managing investment funds in residential property and forestry. Since its launch in 2008, Par Equity has invested more than £150m in companies, with numerous realisations to its credit, including winning the best UK exit award in 2018 for Glasgow based ICS Learn.

Alongside his Par Equity interests, Paul is also Chairman of the global recruitment business, Taranata Group as well as being a visiting Professor of Edinburgh Napier University’s business school.
