Description changed:
The Games Education Summit 2019 is the first of an annual series of conferences to support the next generation of UK game developers, through enabling more collaboration, dialogue and best practice sharing between Further Education, Higher Education and Industry.
40 leaders from the UK’s leading games universities, colleges and development studios will discuss best practice course design, debate the latest trends in technology and games production, review graduate employability, unpack the opportunities and costs of apprenticeships, address diversity and accessibility and review how educators work with industry.
GamesEd19 is for games course leaders, games studio heads, games tools providers, games recruitment companies, 3rd sector games organisations and policymakers to discuss strategic issues of importance to the sector.
Over 1.5 days, the conference will tackle the big issues in games education including employability, diversity, skills required by studios, apprenticeships, how industry can collaborate with educators, best practice pedagogical and course design and starting up from university.
Keynotes will be delivered by Ian Livingstone CBE, Mike Gamble from Epic Games, Dr Jake Habgood from Sheffield Hallam University and Dr Chris Lowthorpe from London College of Communication.
