Globally, the Open Data movement is ten years old. It has contributed hugely not only to governmental transparency but also to social and economic impacts.
Multiple pieces of research have shown what the benefits are. There are international measures of performance, and while the UK was once a leader (but is now slipping down the league table), Scotland has always struggled to get its act together and produce Open Data at scale, with consistency and commitment.
Ian Watt, of ODI Aberdeen, is a vocal advocate for better quality provision of Open Data. Join Ian for a journey through open data, looking at how it can help YOU whether you are a developer, analyst, scientist, campaigner, journalist or citizen. Hear how you can help in not only demanding better data provision, but actually contribute to available data, improving its quality and impact, and support a broad and growing grassroots movement for better Open Data in Scotland.
