MyData Scotland November Meetup

Hi all,

We have our next MyData Scotland Hub meet-up booked for 6pm-8.30pm on Thursday 14th November at the Tron Pub in Edinburgh. Rough agenda is as below, although the plan is a pretty informal chat where anyone with a specific itch to scratch around their personal data can raise the subject:

6:00pm start time/ drinks

6:30-6:40 MyData Intro for newcomers to the subject

6:40-7:10 Dr Karen Gregory, Edinburgh University, sharing an update on her recent Gig Economy project

7:10-7:35 Data Subject Access Request, how to do them and why

7:35-8:00pm Update from MyData Global Organisation and Conference

Two of the group are not long back from the MyData Global Conference (see mydata.org) in Helsinki where they are 950 or so others spent 3 days deep in discussion across many aspects of personal data protection and empowerment. It’s clear that the organisation is growing up and expanding; there are now local hubs in 24 locations from silicon valley to Sydney. We’ll update on key take aways from the conference in a short talk when we meet up.

Thanks
