Digital Meet Manufacturing - Breakfast and Bytes

What digital skills are needed in Industry 4.0? How can we upskill the workforce? And, crucially, how can businesses fund this?

The University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) and the Developer Academy are collaborating for a new event as part of the AMRC’s Digital Meet Manufacturing (DMM) campaign to answer those questions.

As our industries strive towards better productivity and the importance of combining digital with manufacturing becomes more apparent, businesses must keep up and understand how digital skillscan contribute.

DMM is the AMRC’s drive to connect digital tech and manufacturing businesses across the Sheffield City Region, through specialist and impartial advice from specialists in their field.

This informal breakfast meeting will focus on digital skills for Industry 4.0, including upskilling workforces for the current and future demands of the next generation of manufacturing technologies.

Experts will also describe what funding is available for upskilling your workforce and which businesses qualify for subsidies.

The speakers at this event are:

Jonathan Bray, Deputy Head of Digital at the AMRC.

Ben Atha, founder of The Developer Academy.

Jamie Hinton, CEO and co-founder of Razor.

Alex Kelly, Head of IT at Tinsley Bridge.

Jess Ainsworth, Head of Sheffield City Region Skills Bank.

Mark Whelan, Supply Chain Manager at Sheffield City Region Skills Bank.
