The first one wasn't a failure, so here's the second meetup for Bitcoin Sheffield. Worth a visit if you have any interest in cryptocurrency, or if you're just curious.

My name is Greg, and I've been working on Bitcoin projects for the last 5 years. I think Bitcoin is an incredibly interesting technology, and I like trying to explain how it works. twitter.com

At this meetup I'll cover the basics how blockchain technology works. I'll answer questions like:

* What is the blockchain?
* How does the blockchain work?
* How many confirmations should you wait for?
* Can you rewrite the blockchain?
* What's the difference between a hard fork and a soft fork?

As always there will be plenty of diagrams and lots of beginner-friendly explanations. I'm a techy person at heart, but I like trying to explain complex systems in a way that everyone can understand.

So if you're interested in cryptocurrency, or just want to find out what Bitcoin is, please come along. Doors open at 6PM, and the talk will begin at 6.30PM. Feel free to come and enjoy the air-conditioning before the talk starts.
