International Women in Engineering Day: Playing with Tech

International Women in Engineering Day is an international awareness campaign to raise the profile of women in engineering and focuses attention on the amazing career opportunities available to girls in this exciting industry. It's time to celebrate our achievements in the industry. What better way to celebrate than inviting women and nonbinary grownups to PLAY?

Join us at Bright Box Makerspace to play with light up cards and beginner friendly tech kits. We provide all the materials to get started.

No prior experience is necessary for the activities, we want you to try something new! Engineers Tanya Fish and Kisha Bradley will be available for questions and inspiration.

What should I bring?

We'll have materials for you to create art with tech. We'll also have tech kits from Pimoroni available to buy or borrow.

If you have an unopened tech kit lying around the house, please bring it with you! We'll help you get started.

If you see a tech kit you really like from Pimoroni, you can purchase it before the 20th of June and we'll collect it for you. Leave a note in the delivery options at checkout saying you'd like it delivered to the International Women in Engineering Day event at Bright Box Makerspace. Your postage will be refunded to you on collection.

Who is this for?

We encourage all women and non-binary persons aged 16+ to attend regardless of skill.
