Our next ProductTank Edinburgh event will be held on the 30th April at CodeBase with a focus on Cyber Security. We have the following exciting speakers lined up who will be sharing their experiences and challenges of building cyber security products, as well as the importance of building security into existing products.
Matt Little
Matt is currently a VP of Engineering for Security Analytics within Fortinet. Prior to this he was the CTO and one of the founding members of ZoneFox which was recently acquired by Fortinet. While CTO he helped build and launch the ZoneFox portfolio and was a key driver in the growth and scaling of ZoneFox. Matt is also on a number of boards and was recently on the judging panel for Scottish Edge. Matt will cover the challenges of building successful cyber security products while being a new-entrant to the market and a largely unknown start-up located in Scotland.
Stu Hirst
Stu is currently Head of Cloud Security at PhotoBox Group and has also worked at CapitalOne and Skyscanner. He is also the founder of Cyber Scotland Connect, a 1400-strong cyber community which promotes the sharing of experiences and lessons learnt amongst the cyber security experts in Edinburgh. Stu's talk will focus on security considerations when building a new website or mobile app product.
Kirk J. Torrance
Kirk has over a decade of working at the forefront of digital and social media, and has consulted domestically and internationally for politicians and political parties. As a result of that experience Kirk went on to design and develop PrivacyKit , a personal privacy toolset to help protect individual web users when using the Internet which consists of both physical and digital components. Kirk will be speaking about how developing physical products is analogous to the process required of digital products; whilst also sharing insights he garnered in bringing PrivacyKit to market.
Sorcha Lorimer
Sorcha is founder of Trace, a data protection SaaS start up based in Edinburgh. She has previously worked with digital agencies as Global Head of Digital Strategy at Standard Life, and has broad consultancy experience. Sorcha is now focused on developing user-centred data compliance and discovery products which take the pain and inefficiency out of governance. Her talk will focus on pragmatic Privacy by Design, taking a holistic and business centric view, as well as looking at getting the balance right between regulation and innovation.
