Beginners and experts alike are welcome. You don't need to know anything about functional programming!
(def shef) is working through last year's Advent of Code (adventofcode.com) taking a few exercises each month. In March, we're looking at days 7 and 8. If you didn't start on day 1, you can just jump in at day 7!
We won't be able to complete these exercises in the two hour session. The idea is that you have a go on your own in the month leading up to the session and we can use the time to share approaches and learn from one another. You can use any language you like. It doesn't need to be a "functional language", although functional approaches and their practical considerations will be a focus.
You can see some of our work at github.com. We look forward to seeing you!
