Scottish Blockchain Meetup: Wallet.Services - DLT in Public Services & Opportunities for Scotland

Speakers: Peter Ferry, Commercial Director, Wallet.Services and Stewart Pavitt, Chief Product Officer, Wallet.Services, Dr Hannah Rudman
Strategic Transformation Director, Wallet.Services

In March 2017 The Scottish Government identified Distributed Ledger Technology, or blockchain, as a tool which can address common issues in digital public services.

It committed to exploring its potential and to sharing best practice with progressive international governments. Meetup regular Wallet.Services, in partnership with the Scottish Government through the CivTech® programme, conducted international and local research into the application of DLT in digital public services.

In this meetup we will present our research findings: referencing early use of DLT in public services around the world, discussing its potential in public services, and suggesting opportunities for its application in Scotland.

This research has also helped shape the product development of our SICCAR blockchain platform: for cross-organisational collaboration. We will be demoing the latest version of SICCAR, showing how it has been applied to our recent proof-of-concepts, to allow for secure data sharing between different organisations.
