Hilary Brownlie & Clare Barnett (Registers of Scotland)
As with the 'mobile first' philosophy, we want to raise awareness about designing for 'screenless' interfaces as something UX professionals need to consider.
Specifically, how we can prototype and test voice interfaces for user research at the earliest opportunity.
Without talking about code and technical implementation, but by understanding how this technology has evolved in recent years, we can learn about current VUI limitations and imagine their potential. We will learn lessons from early adoptions and understand how they can open our services to new audiences.
We will demonstrate effective ways to prototype for conversational interfaces and demonstrate traditional usability testing techniques that can still be applied.
