JP Morgan Glasgow are organising a 'Large Meetup Collider’ event as part of JP Morgan’s Innovation Week (JP Morgan Global initiative, all offices throughout the world will be involved) . They have invited local tech meet ups to come along and host their own meetup at 18.00 and then all the group get together for one big networking session. This will be a fantastic event for networking with other local group members.
'Scotland Data Science & Technologies' presenters are a team of MSc students from Stirling University (Robert Hamlet, Peter Henriksen and Cynthia Morel)
Presentation 1 - Data students come up with plan to tackle Scotland’s fly-tipping problem.
The project was won by Robert Hamlet, Peter Henriksen and Cynthia Morel from Stirling University, at the inaugural Data Lab MSc Challenge Competition. The competition brought all 90 students funded by The Data Lab’s pioneering MSc programme from seven Scottish universities together and challenged them to develop new insights, services or products that have a social or economic benefit using datasets unique to Scotland. The Challenge culminated last weekend with a 48 hour hackathon and judging ceremony.
The students won £3,000 in funding to support their careers in Scotland through data training courses and conferences. Winning Team:
