Miro is currently working on a Fixed Income data integration for an Edinburgh-based Asset Manager. Besides his ‘day’ job Miro has been active in the Edinburgh FinTech community, namely in 2016 he spotted a great appetite to connect IT and Finance professionals together to galvanize innovation – ScotFinTECH was born with bold ambition to replicate Silicon Valley’s entrepreneur spirit which Miro enjoyed during his 2 years working at SanDisk. He holds a BSc degree in Information Systems from Czech Technical University in Prague and MS in System Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Miro’s professional experience has been focused on data modelling and creating new value from business data in various industries ranging from retail to financial services. Talk topic: “New generation banking: Alexa, call iBank API!” In last 12 months Miro attended 2 hackathons with focus on Open Banking. Very actual as financial institutions have until 2018 to implement the second payment services directive (PSD2). PSD2 is designed to boost competition in the name of “open banking” by forcing banks to allow third parties such as FinTech startups to access the data of customers who authorise it. Miro will share on the concept of iBank which marries BankAPI and Alexa voice-assistant, and if all technical obstacles are overcome a working prototype will be demonstrated.
