THIS IS A BEGINNER LEVEL EVENT.
** About the talk:
WordPress is easy to set up isn’t it? Isn’t it?!
This is a run-through of some of the basic tasks required in setting up a WP site including:
• initial installation;
• choosing a theme;
• selecting plugins;
• (very) basic SEO.
There’s lots to cover so it will be a skim through.Plus time for Q&A but hopefully minimal BS!
** About the Speaker:
Jeremy has spent over 30 years in IT and hasn’t been found out yet. He is well versed in a number of defunct programming languages and now designs and manages a variety of websites for both commercial and voluntary organisations.
His WP skills are self-taught and he has the bruises to prove it.
When he’s not working he can be found singing in musical theatre or playing tennis — but not at the same time.

Code of Conduct:
WordPress Meetups are for the benefit of the WordPress community as a whole, not specific businesses or individuals. All actions taken as an event organizer are with the best interest of the community in mind.
Membership in the local meetup group is open to all who wish to join, regardless of ability, skill, financial status or any other criteria.
Meetups are volunteer-run with volunteer speakers. In cases where a modest attendance fee might be necessary, this fee should only cover the costs of the meetup and shouldn’t be used to pay speakers or organizers.
Meetup groups allow events to be organized by any reliable/trusted member of the community.
Meetups are welcoming places where everyone works to foster an accepting environment which is free of discrimination, incitement to violence, promotion of hate, and general oaf-like behaviour.
