Guest of Honour
A speaker confirmed from BAE Systems
Following the launch of the Government’s National Cyber Security Strategy and National Cyber Security Centre, this seminar will be an opportunity to discuss the key policy priorities for cyber security in the UK.
It will bring together stakeholders from the UK and EU legislatures, senior representatives from across industry, critical infrastructure providers, Government departments, their advisors and suppliers, as well as academics, citizen groups and other interested parties.
As the Joint Committee on the National Security Strategy considers evidence submitted to their inquiry into UK cyber security, delegates will assess the types and sources of cyber threats facing UK organisations, whether the new strategy is fit for purpose, and the potential impact of Brexit on intelligence sharing and legislative development across the European Union.
Delegates will also consider how well-placed public and private organisations are to defend against cyber-attacks; the latest thinking on encouraging more people into a career in cyber security, particularly women and young people; examining adoption of certification programmes like Cyber Essentials; assessing the position of UK SMEs following recent M&A activity and the future of the UK as a leader in this space, both in terms of international cooperation and as an exporter.
