The Global Game Jam is held yearly and is the world's largest game jam event taking place around the world at physical locations. Think of it as a hackathon focused on game development. It is all condensed into a 48 hour development cycle. The GGJ encourages people with all kinds of backgrounds to participate and contribute to this global spread of game development and creativity.
Here’s the global game jam site:

Please don’t sign up for multiple sites for the global game jam as this causes confusion for numbers of places.
You will need to be resisted there to submit your game/ add useful to team pages for submission so might as well do it before the jam but can be done later.
Opening hours:
Please don’t sign up for multiple sites for the global game jam as this causes confusion for numbers of places.
I don’t plan on having the space open though the night, instead 8am - 12 pm
Although if enough people request full 48 hour access it could be arranged.
It would be nice to have a mini play party at the end of the jam but that will depend on who is still awake and will happen if enough people request it.
Food:
We are currently seeking funding for food but have secured none at the moment but the location in central and there are loads of places to stalk up on snacks and get food, along with our small tuckshop which usually has some snack bars, crisps, tea, coffee, noodles cupa soup, and soft drinks.
You can bring your own food and drink into the space as long as you use the bins or take rubbish away with you.
If you or your company would like to sponsor the jam or part sponsor the jam please contact me and we could arrange some signage and mentions throughout the event : lowtek@hotmail.co.uk
Equipment:
There are a few computers in the makerspace but this is mainly a bring your own kit event. Some spare monitors are available for those who like dual screens.
We have a couple workshop benches which may be good for people who want to try a standing desk.
We may also be short on tables if a lot of people show hence the 70 person capacity but if anyone can bring their own table fold up or otherwise that would be much appreciated and if you email me ahead of time I could add more tickets as we have a lot of space just not enough tables. These tables should be removed at the end of the event.
We also home 3d printers, A3 2d printers, a laser cutter, vinyl cutter, soldering equipment and a variety of woodworking equipment if you wish to make something physical. Items such as the laser cutter and 3D printers which require materials have a small fee applied but the prices are reasonable.
