uk.linkedin.com
Martina is a Data Scientist at Mallzee, a startup based in Edinburgh whose mobile app is known as the "Tinder for Fashion" due to the swipes-like interface it has created as first in the Fashion market. She is a physicist by background with training in data analysis and modelling, having worked in predicting how and when natural language evolves in time. She daily analyses large datasets of preferences which the users of the app produce. Her responsibilities at Mallzee range from producing algorithms for personalisation and generating insights about fashion trends in the market, to informing the business' strategy with data. She is the opposite of a fashion fanatic, but she believes the rich data in this field provides a passport into people's mind, and finds fascinating studying that.
