Screening of the new 'Snowden' film, followed by discussion
Description changed:
ORG London is organising a group outing to see the new 'Snowden' film with ORG staff members. Join us for an exploration into how mass surveillance violates our rights to privacy and free speech. The film will examine a number of digital rights issues that ORG campaigns on.
"'Snowden', the politically-charged, pulse-pounding thriller starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley, reveals the incredible untold personal story of Edward Snowden, the polarising figure who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the NSA and became one of the most wanted men in the world." - Barbican film description.
The film will be followed by informal discussion and socialising at a nearby pub (TBC) to talk about the issues that were raised. There will be soft drinks available and there is no pressure to consume alcohol.
Click on 'I'M GOING' on Meetup to let us know that your coming.
Please do spread the word and feel free to bring guests, all are welcome.
**We will be watching the film at the Barbican cinema, it will cost £6 for one ticket, we ask you to please book your own ticket**
**As the Barbican cinema only releases film timings one week in advance, we will not know the exact time of the film untill Monday 24th October - you will be able to book a ticket for the film on 24th as well**

**UPDATE - I have just contacted the Barbican cinema again and they have told me that there may not be a film showing of the Snowden film next Monday 31st October. This is due to their film schedule now changing due to other films having more demand than expected. I have been advised to contact them back this Thursday 27th October to confirm if there will be a showing of the Snowden film next Monday. I am sorry for the confusion. I will send out another post on Meetup on Thursday with more information about next Monday's ORG London meeting.**
