Iain Mc (Tester at Razor Jam) will be presenting an introduction to performance testing using jMeter. Hopefully with some small scale live demos if the WiFi can take it. Followed by a Q&A session which will probably descend into the usual lively debate, drinking beer and networking.
Upstairs in the Rutland as usual. Presentation kicks off at 7pm.
It's a ShefTest double-demonstration special! Two speakers with more than just a PowerPoint presentation...
GSDT - Google Sheets Driven Testing - James Almond
Faced with the all too familiar problems of stakeholder investment and maintaining an auto-test pack, James developed a combined solution for both. The stakeholders manage the automated test scenarios collaboratively in Google Sheets which run automatically against the application and the results are pushed back to Google Docs. It sounds so crazy it just might be genius! James is going to explain how it all hangs together and let us see it in action.
First Steps with OWASP ZAP - Achim Brucker
Dr. Achim Brucker is a Senior Lecturer and Security Consultant at the Computer Science Department at The University of Sheffield. He'll be giving us a brief introduction to OWASP ZAP (short for Zed Attack Proxy), which is a powerful and open-source security testing tool for web applications. Focussing on the basics of manual web application security testing, we'll be sniffing user credentials and maybe hijacking a session cookie or two. All in the name of building better software, obviously. ;)
Talks start at 7:30 and of course there'll be a short beer break in the middle.
