MOTD is dedicated to providing a harassment-free event experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity, age, race, national identity, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any event venue, including talks. Event participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event at the discretion of the event organizers/management. Harassment includes, but is not limited, to offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity, age, race, religion, the use or display of sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Exhibiting partners and speakers are also subject to the code of conduct. In particular, exhibitors and speakers should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material, or otherwise create a sexualized environment. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the Event Staff immediately. Our Event Staff can usually be identified by special badges/attire. Please note, while we take all concerns raised seriously, we will use our discretion to determine when and how to follow up on reported incidents and may decline to take any further action and/or may direct the participant to other resources for resolution. Event staff will be happy to help participants contact venue/event security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.
We expect participants to follow these rules at all event venues and related social events.
Conduct Policy
MOTD reserves the right to refuse admittance to, or remove any person from any MOTD event (including future March of the Droids events) at any time at its sole discretion. This includes but is not limited to attendees behaving in a disorderly manner or failing to comply with the following guidelines.
Community Guidelines
Be excellent to each other.
Treat everyone with respect. Participate while acknowledging that everyone deserves to be here — and each of us has the right to enjoy our experience without fear of harassment, discrimination, or condescension, whether blatant or via micro-aggressions.
Speak up if you see or hear something.
Harassment is not tolerated, and you are empowered to politely engage when you or others are harassed. Also, assume positive intent. The person making you feel uncomfortable may not be aware of what they are doing, and politely bringing their behavior to their attention is encouraged.
We have a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to:
Stalking/following
Harassing photography or recording
Deliberate intimidation
Sustained disruption of talks or other events
Offensive verbal comments
Sexual images in public spaces
Inappropriate physical contact
Unwelcome sexual or physical attention

We empower and encourage you to report any behavior that makes you or others feel uncomfortable by finding an MOTD staff member or emailing info@marchofthedroids.co.uk.
Any person behaving in a disorderly manner, engaging in harassing or inappropriate behavior, or otherwise failing to comply with this policy may be removed from any MOTD-hosted event or refused admittance (including to future MOTD events) at any time in MOTD’s sole discretion. Individuals who are expelled from an event for a violation of this policy will not be provided with a refund.
Anti-harassment policy
March of the Droids (MOTD) is dedicated to providing harassment-free event experiences for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity, age, body size, physical appearance, neurodiversity, race, national identity, religion, or other protected category. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form. In 2016 MOTD instituted an anti-harassment policy that all attendees of MOTD events must abide by.

This policy is licensed under the Creative Commons Zero license.
This policy is based on several other policies, including the IDEAA Code of Conduct, Google I/O anti-harassment policy, Ohio LinuxFest anti-harassment policy, written by Esther Filderman and Beth Lynn Eicher, and the Con Anti-Harassment Project. Mary Gardiner, Valerie Aurora, Sarah Smith, and Donna Benjamin generalised the policies and added supporting material. Many members of LinuxChix, Geek Feminism and other groups contributed to this work.
