In advance of the new European Data Protection Regulation, currently making its way through the European Parliament, this seminar will provide a timely opportunity for delegates to discuss the implications of the regulatory changes on data protection in Scotland.
Delegates will consider the impact of the European Commission’s proposals, which will strengthen the role of the European Union by harmonising data protection laws across member states, on organisations within Scotland.
It will provide an opportunity for those attending to discuss the next steps for organisations in regards to compliance, in light of the proposed changes to the regulatory framework, and the impact on citizens in relation to their privacy, including discussion on how to better inform individuals about their data usage and how businesses utilise such data.
