Join us at the Founder's Hub in Cardiff for an update on Open Rights Group's current digital rights campaigns, from ORG's Legal Director Elizabeth Knight.
Elizabeth will be focusing on ORG's campaign against the previous Data Retention Regulations and the new Data Retention Investigatory Powers Act (DRIP Act) which the government rushed through Parliament in July. DRIP forces ISPs and phone companies to record all of our calls, emails and texts, despite this being recently deemed unlawful by the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Open Rights Group have been campaigning against the Act so Elizabeth will be taking us through what the real implications of the Act are for our digital rights, what ORG have done so far to resist the Act and what we're planning for the future, in terms of a possible legal challenge.
The event is free to attend and will be followed by an informal Q&A discussion, so as always everyone is welcome!
