ThougtWorks Quarterly Technology Briefing is an event where you can learn about the big issues which are being discussed within ThoughtWorks. We hope by running an event with different communities that we can discover more diverse solutions to our current problems.
"The 'big data' world is moving quickly with predictions of amazing industry growth. We think the 'Internet of Things' is going to play a big part in that so we are going to take a look at this and kind of software architectures needed now and in the future in order to deal with the scale and velocity of information and why older approaches just don't work any more.
Specifically we will review the lambda architecture and similar approaches to dealing with streaming and stored data. From this we are going to look at the power of data, it's use as a currency, challenges to security and privacy.
