We are the capital of Scotland’s premier meetup for all things PHP and more. We love talking about all web technologies, including, but not limited to: PHP & JavaScript frameworks / DHTML & AJAX / programming methodologies and design patterns / CMS’s / e-commerce / hosting / scalability / deployment / Relational & Document databases and any other cool web technologies.
edPUG takes place on the third Tuesday of every month. It is free to come along, but we issue electronic tickets via Eventbrite to control the capacity of the venue. Get your ticket early to avoid disappointment! We’ll also email those with a free ticket with a reminder a few days before the event.
On July 15th 2006, The full version of Twitter was publically introduced. On June 18th 2014, we finally got control of the @edpug twitter handle! Please follow us so we can tweet to more than 17 people (and send us a tweet too!)
We are very pleased to announce that we have a talk at this month's edpug by John Sutherland (@sneeu), the lead Python developer at FanDuel. He may make a few PHP jokes in jest, but he knows he will be outnumbered so will mostly behave (we like Python too! Twig syntax was derived from the Django framework templating system). Many of you will have seen John talk recently at @EdinburghJS and @ScotlandJS.
# Fearless Git
"Git is a powerful, but often misunderstood tool. In this talk we'll discover how git works underneath the porcelain to gain confidence, as well as how to get ourselves out of trouble when the worst does happen."
This is the second edPUG in the new Blonde Digital venue, so remember to check the website (http://www.edpug.co.uk) for directions. Inspired by @EdinburghJS, we may mix up the food on offer a bit. Beer, Cider, Tea and Coffee will also be available.
