We are the capital of Scotland’s premier meetup for all things PHP and more. We love talking about all web technologies, including, but not limited to: PHP & JavaScript frameworks / DHTML & AJAX / programming methodologies and design patterns / CMS’s / e-commerce / hosting / scalability / deployment / Relational & Document databases and any other cool web technologies.
edPUG takes place on the third Tuesday of every month. It is free to come along, but we issue electronic tickets via Eventbrite to control the capacity of the venue. Get your ticket early to avoid disappointment! We’ll also email those with a free ticket with a reminder a few days before the event.
This May's edPUG is the first meetup in the post 1,400,000,000 Unix epoch era.
Some of us have been partying already! - https://twitter.com/allyburns/status/466262631654125568.
It is also the last edPUG in Line HQ, as it will soon be moving to Blonde Digitals swanky offices (http://www.thedrum.com/news/2014/04/25/blonde-digital-completes-acquisition-line-digital) where Blonde will take over sponsorship of the event.
Nev Stokes kindly answered the call for speakers and is talking about PHP and the XML ecosystem in general, not just focussing on using XSLT for HTML templates.
He'll be touching on XML, XSD, XPath, XSL and XSLT (with comparisons to Smarty / Twig) and possibly other related technologies like Schematron if time allows.
As usual beer and PHPizza available on the night, see you there!
