A full-day hackathon to explore solutions to real-life problems faced by companies in the advanced manufacturing sector.
Join us at the AMRC's Factory 2050 for a full-day hackathon. During the hack, we will be exploring solutions to genuine challenges faced by companies in the advanced manufacturing sector, including:
Data analysis & visualisation solutions - turning available data into useful insights and making these accessible to various users.
Data collection tools - making use of existing or new tools to create data capture and storage solutions that are more reliable and provide coherent datasets.
Combining data sets - bringing together data from various sources, to enable new cross-analysis options to inform operational and planning decisions.
You'll have the chance to unpick these challenges alongside people from the companies and other experts from the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) before getting into small teams to find ideas, create prototypes, or mock-up how things might work in practice.
You'll have industry expertise and coaching support for your groups throughout, and the day will round off with teams sharing ideas and any prototypes. There will be small prizes on the day for the best ideas, plus the opportunity to develop these further and pitch them to a wider audience at a showcase event on April 13, where the best ideas will be awarded larger prizes by a panel of industry experts.
