This month we'll be welcoming:

Dee Vincent-Day (@deevincentday) - Metadata is all around you

You started learning about the web a while ago and have got into the habit of adding metadata to the top of your web pages. You might only add 3 or 4 keywords. Today this is simply not enough. If you want your pages at the top of search results you need to consider your metadata in more depth.
Using real-life examples, Dee will explain how important metadata is in helping people discover films they want to view, items they want to buy and books they want to read. Indeed literally anything will benefit from good quality metadata.
You will get the opportunity to create metadata for an item of your choice as an exercise
Dee will finish off by talking about future implementations of metadata-driven systems and how we will be using them.
