Sheffield Women in Tech (ShfWIT): Neurodiversity - A Spotlight on Autism (online event)

Sheffield Women in Technology are delighted to present a special online webinar that discusses the critical and complex topic of autism.

Our speakers for this event are:

Alyzande Renard, Learning Mentor and Sheffield Woman in Technology

Melissa Simmonds, Adult Autism Coordinator for Voluntary Action Sheffield (VAS) and the Sheffield Autism Partnership Network (SAPN), launched in July 2021.

With the release of the National Strategy for Autistic Children, Young People and Adults in July 2021 by the UK Government, Sheffield is now responsible for developing a safe and inclusive community for autistic people. This event will shed light on our speakers' lived experiences, and include practical recommendations on how to support autistic people in the workplace and in the local community. This event is suitable for everyone, including those who are new to understanding autism and neurodiversity.

Audience members are advised that this event will make a general mention of domestic violence and sexual assault.

To accommodate the neurodiverse needs of our speakers, we will be accepting questions in advance and via the chatbox during the evening only and our speakers may be able to respond at the Q&A session at the end of the presentations. Attendees are welcome to send any questions they have in advance to shfwit@gmail.com.
