Levelling up Futures in Sheffield is a city-wide partnership between Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Sheffield Business Together to support young people adversely affected by the pandemic, delivering education and employability initiatives in schools and colleges where young people are most at risk of being not in education, employment or training.
We have now engaged schools and colleges to discuss their needs and we have several mock interview opportunities that we would appreciate you and your people supporting. Further details and how to apply are below.
School/College Profile
Most of the LUFiS schools/colleges are in areas of low social mobility. Many of the students are from disadvantaged backgrounds and don't have the financial backing or opportunities afforded to students in more affluent parts of the city.
Mock Interviews
To prepare the young people for the world of work we want to provide an authentic interview experience. Questioning in a professional manner and treating students as you would in an actual interview. No interview experience is required as full support and guidance will be provided. We just need people with a passion to help young people. This provides an excellent opportunity for professional development, providing volunteers with interviewing experience.
How to Get Involved
To allow you to select the school and date convenient to you, we have captured all the opportunities on the attached expressions of interest form, which can be accessed via the link below. We would really appreciate you sharing this with everyone in your organisation, but we do need individual expressions of interest. You are welcome to volunteer for more than one opportunity.
Please let us know what mock interview you would like to be involved in via this link: https://forms.office.com/r/tf4FfE97Wj
Once you have selected the mock interviews you would like to be involved in, we will be in contact with more detail about that specific opportunity and will connect you with the school/college.
