About this Event
Barclays Eagle Labs, Elbridge AI and Versus Arthritis are joining together for a new series of virtual events "Tech at Ten" to support individuals and businesses within Barclays Eagle Labs and techpreneurs more widely.
Our first event, on 8 March 2021 is on International Women's Day (IWD2021) so we're exploring what #ChoosetoChallenge means to UK businesses and putting the spotlight on one of a successful Eagle Labs alumni business.
We're excited to invite Razor and Snap Out to talk about tech innovation that changes perceptions, and OASIS to talk about expanding a successful start-up during the pandemic.
Jamie Hinton - Razor
Beginning his career writing scripts to automate his own job as a data uploader at one of Sheffield’s (then) largest technology agencies, it is this mindset of ceaseless innovation which gave life to Razor and its mission to always stay on the sharp edge of technology.
At Razor he challenges his team to think bigger. To harness the power of automation, VR, machine learning and focused design thinking to enhance business functions, experiences and intelligence beyond the client’s expectation.
Razor is a digital technology consultancy based in Sheffield. They apply passion, innovation and commitment to solving some of the hardest issues businesses and organisations face globally.
They pride themselves on starting everything they do with people, using cutting edge technology to achieve this, including everything from integrations to mobile apps and web applications to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Razor are also Microsoft Technology Specialists with a certified Microsoft Gold Partnership.
Dr Chloe Sharp - Founder of SnapOut
SnapOut is an innovation consultancy based company in Milton Keynes. Chloe has 15 years of qualitative research experience, across market, social, user and behavioural research. She works with tech SMEs to develop highly innovative products from AI assistants to RegTech products in emerging markets. Chloe puts technology to the test to understand motivations and triggers for using technology and how people use technology in real-life environments. She also works with tech SMEs to help them access governmental grant funding.
Anna Plaster - Founder of OASIS
As a typical entrepreneur, Anna Plaster wears many hats - two of which are CEO roles for OASIS & ADDIT. Both companies are (normally!) based at Cranfield Universities’ Eagle Lab, where a valuable network has been developed, encompassing government, academia and industry.
Both companies have an innovative Industry 4.0 focus which primarily revolve around the development and use of drone and sensor technologies. OASIS, an operational service delivery company, provides NDT inspections of high-value assets (e.g. wind turbines and aircraft) which have major benefits to companies. ADDIT is a SaaS start-up with an aviation focus, where the use of disruptive technology will upskill engineers toolboxes and deliver major cost and time-saving benefits to the sector.
Anna’s B/Sc in Ecological Sciences has given her the focus and expertise to ensure the businesses have a solid focus around sustainability.
Anna’s 20+ years of entrepreneurial expertise is a valuable resource for start-ups, female founders and anyone joining the drone sector - so if you need inspiration, a subject matter expert or ideas on how to get your tech project started, look no further!
The WebEx details to join will be shared with you an hour before the session.
