Emily Webber - Networks, Serendipity and the Flow of Ideas
Description changed:
For our November event, we have Agile and Digital Delivery Consultant, coach, trainer, speaker, and author of the excellent, "Building Successful Communities of Practice", Emily Webber.
Description: "Networks, Serendipity and the Flow of Ideas"
There is power in networks and the connections between people. Organisations where ideas can freely flow between people, are more successful, smarter and more innovative than ones where knowledge lives in silos. In this session, Emily will explain some of the research and concepts behind networks and idea flow. She will share some ways that you can use to help increase the power of internal networks, even when working from home is the norm.
Bio: Emily Webber is a London-based independent Agile consultant, coach, trainer and speaker. Her focus is on creating the right environments for people and teams to succeed. She does this by enabling effective collaboration, agile ways of working, embedding communities of practice and leading initiatives for growing skills and capabilities. All of which help create sustainable change.
She was previously the head of agile delivery at the Government Digital Service, where she built, developed and led a team of about 40 agile delivery professionals. At GDS, she created the widely-followed approach and maturity model for communities of practice and subsequently authored Building Successful Communities of Practice.
Emily is a popular keynote speaker, blogger (at emilywebber.co.uk) and event organiser. Speaking appearances include Mind the Product London, GOTO Copenhagen, Agile Testing Days Berlin, YOW! Australia and Craft Budapest. Emily set up Agile in Leeds, Agile on the Bench and Agile in the Ether, among others. Her experiences on the event circuit prompted her to create the Diversity Charter.
We have a Code of Conduct. To attend our events, you must accept the ideas and actions within it: https://www.meetup.com/Lean-Agile-Glasgow/about/
