Sheffield Collective: First Virtual Meet-Up

Sheffield Collective is an inclusive networking group for freelancers / self-employed / sole traders - basically anyone who works 'on their own', from any industry or background.

Naturally, it's likely to appeal to the digital and creative communities, but this group is designed to be inclusive - whatever you do, you’re welcome.

From a painter and decorator, to a web designer, to a mortgage broker - every person is just as valued in the Collective.

As that word suggestions, this really is about being a Collective. We may not have big work teams around us, but we can form a team of our own, and support and help one another.

Together, we are stronger.

Meet-ups will have an informal format - likely around early evening; T-shirts and desk beers will be welcomed - nay, encouraged.
Everyone will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and we’ll collate and pass around contact details and Linked In or Twitter info.

The idea is to exchange ideas, experiences, and help each other solve problems and find new openings.

Helping others really is important - if you know someone who would welcome an intro to a fellow member of the collective, please do it. Referrals are a two-way street - please give as much as you'd like to receive.

In time there will be break out rooms - and maybe guest speakers, webinars, presentations, or specific discussion topics - they're something for the collective as a whole to decide on.

You might work on your own, but you're never alone
