Description changed:
STOP THINKING GLOBALLY
KYLE BREMNER
The web is the last stand for global thinking. While other platforms have embraced encapsulation and componentisation, the web has continued to keep everything in global scope. Some developers have sought refuge in frameworks that abandon the DOM, in favour of their own abstractions. But there is a better way. We can keep the DOM and think locally. Thanks to web components.
ES6 WITH HELP FROM BABLE
DAVID RANKIN
The future is here! ES6 (JavaScript 2015) offers lots of great new things and moves to solve some of the issues that have blighted JavaScript since the early days. From the syntactic sugar of arrow functions to the key concepts of modules and classes there is a lot of valuable additions to the language. The only problem is that while browser support is improving it cannot be relied upon. This is where the awesome Babel comes in.
First talk starts at 7pm.
