This month we have our annual lightning talks day. There will be short, five minutes or so, talks from people about all sorts of topics, not necessarily tech related. last year we had talks on 2D barcode, ham radio on the cheap and why electric cars will make your lights go out.
You don't have to give a talk, but it would be very welcome, just come along and enjoy the knowledge of others. We meet in the upstairs room of the Wheatsheaf Pub. Buy a drink at the bar, then go past it with the bar on your left and through the door and up the stairs. Be there any time from 7:30 onwards. We aim to start the talks about 8.
Some of us meet in the Carron Works pub for tea from about 6:15. We are usually a group of 5 or 6 people and there should be a linux penguin on the table.

This month Greg Sutcliffe is giving a talk about Delve, an open source document storage system he has created. We meet in the upstairs Room of the Wheatsheaf Inn from 19:30. To find the room get a drink at the bar, walk past it to the right and go through the door. Go through the door in front of you and carry on up the stairs.
John Spray, ex of Intel and now of Inktank, will be talking on File Systems designed to be run across thousands of servers.
