Description changed:
Music Machine 40 is part of composer Simon Belshaw’s ongoing Music Machine project and is a large scale installation that uses eight Raspberry Pi computers with sensors to generate music. This installation is produced in association with 2.Times Do CIC, funded by Exeter City Council and supported by Devon Libraries.
The project has three stages; the first morning session will be an opportunity for eight people to build a part of the installation. This will include a simple circuit and 3D printing. The second session will be the development and exploration of the potential of the music that can be created by the machine.
The final stage will run from 1:00 when the Rougemont Room will be open to all visitors who will be able to interact with the machine and create their own unique piece of music.
Tickets for the morning session are limited, cost £5 and available from Exeter Library, the workshop is suitable for all ages although children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
No musical, coding or electronic knowledge are required.
