After the continued success of the show-and-tell sessions we'll be meeting again for another in November.
So far we've had wonderful demonstrations of live coding systems for education, deterministic game character generation, realtime analysis techniques for modelling signals, projection-mapping, code hygiene analysis, an introduction to manipulating visuals with Tooll3, generating 3D terrain images of the UK from open data, convolution cellular automata, breathing life into an ancient plotter, an introduction to VJing with Touch Designer, AI generated music videos that worked with the beat, a web-based guitar tutor aid, raved to an amazing jungle live coded music performance, explored the mathematics of infectious diseases through the analogy of a card game, played colour games with AI, explored visual programming languages and more. It's been huge fun and there was lots to experience and learn. I'm expecting this month to be just as exciting.
This will take place upstairs in the Rutland Arms. Please ask at the bar for directions. We have the upstairs room exclusively booked out for us to use to share and talk about the projects we're planning or working on.
If you have something to show or share with us, please do bring it along. We have a projector and a speaker for you to use.
Also, if you're just curious and want to see what others are doing - there's absolutely no pressure to show anything - just come along.
The core idea is to draw inspiration from, encourage and ultimately learn from each other. No project is too basic or too sophisticated - we welcome it all.
There's no formal format for this event - it will very much be adhoc and unconferency. However, if you do have something you'd like to show and have any questions - feel free to reach out to me beforehand and Ill help you in any way I can.
Note that you'll be able to bring drinks from the bar upstairs as well as order food should you fancy that.
Really looking forward to seeing what you're all creatively coding!

This is a Sheffield-based group for everyone interested in the creativity of code.
We are not just programmers, we're also artists, educators, practitioners and hobbyists working with or near code for creative reasons.
Creative coding comes in many shapes and forms such as using code to make music, generate visual arts, design new wearable tech-fashion, explore literature, or to engage the next generation of programmers within the classroom.
Whether you're a seasoned creative coder, have just starting your coding adventure or are simply curious about creative coding we welcome you with open arms.
This group is just getting started and the initial plan is to discover each other and to meet regularly once a month in Sheffield where we can share ideas, learn from each other and to create a nurturing support group.
Before you attend, please read our code of conduct: https://www.meetup.com/creative-coding-sheffield/messages/boards/thread/53733438
