Sheffield Hackspace is a non-profit, member-run hackspace for central Sheffield. Together we’re building a workshop and community to help people get involved in “the creative use of technology and tools for projects in fields such as computing, robotics, machining, technology, digital art or electronic art“.
We’re interested in whatever our members are interested in! Such as electronics (including Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP8266), 3D printing and CAD, laser cutting, textiles (including clothing and kites), crafts, woodwork and metalwork, LoRaWAN and IoT, robotics and machine learning, photography...
We’re always keen for new people to join who can swap ideas, learn from each other, and build new things. All skill levels welcome!
Additionally we’re open every other Saturday from 11am - 6pm, and check out our website www.sheffieldhackspace.org.uk for info on the various interest groups that meet throughout the week.

Robotics meetup at the Sheffield hackers and makers
Description changed:
Do you want to learn about Robotics? Come to the Sheffield hackspace and learn how to build a robot. At the hackspace, we have the philosophy, we learn by doing and we currently have a group project building a robot in ROS (Robot Operating System). Come and join in Thursday at 6:30 and see what it’s all about.
Your first session is free and it cost a small £6 a month to visit the hackspace for 2 sessions a week for the month. The hackspace is a members owned club and the small cost is keep the lights on and consumables stocked up.
If you have your own robot in whatever form car, robotic arm or humanoid then visit the hackspace for sharing ideas. If your currently stuck in your project, again come down and see if we can help you past your current hurdle.
We're keen advocates on open hardware and open source software.
