Dundee PHP: Video - How I learned to stop worrying and love Regex
Description changed:
This month we have no in-person speakers but since the videos from the recent PHP UK Conference in London have become available, let's meet with some beer and pizza and watch a talk together!
Jordi Boggiano's talk How I learned to stop worrying and love Regex has come highly recommended from the members of the user group that attended the conference, so we'll be watching this and discussing it together afterwards over more drinks.
The video will cover Regular Expressions from the basics to the darkest corners of this arcane art. Regular Expressions at the core come in handy to achieve validation and text manipulation tasks. In the day to day life of a developer, becoming comfortable with them opens up many more use cases. As one of the tortured souls that actually enjoys writing - and reading - regexes, Jordi will share his passion so that you too can see there is no reason to worry.
We will be back in The Big Ideas room at the Vision Building on Greenmarket on Thursday the 28th of April.
Free food and drinks will once again provided by LogicNow and there will be a prize raffle of a PhpStorm license sponsored by JetBrains.
Doors open at 6:30pm with food arriving shortly before the 7pm start.
Come along and meet and network with fellow developers from Dundee's PHP community.
