Heidi and Kim are kindly taking time out of their jam-packed Edinburgh schedule to give a very special opportunity to the Scotland Silicon Valley Link and CoFoundersLab Scotland. They will share and discuss their vast Silicon Valley experience and priceless insights into what it takes for Startups to form and build great Boards of Directors and ultimately great companies (and also, why it can go wrong and what can happen).
Heidi Roizen has spent her life engaged in the technological ecosystem of Silicon Valley and after a year as VP of Worldwide Developer Relations at Apple is currently the Operating Partner at venture firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
She is also a corporate director for the Daily Mail & General Trust plc, ShareThis and Technorati. Heidi also teaches 'Spirit of Entrepreneurship' at Stanford University - where she earned her undergrad and MBA degrees. In 1983, Heidi CoFounded software company T/Maker and served as CEO until its acquisition by Deluxe Corporation in 1996.
Kim Polese is also a leading Silicon Valley Entrepreneur and is the Chairman of ClearStreet which is a startup that leverages the power of social incentives to help people eliminate debt, build savings and develop long-term financial health.
She is also the recipient of the numerous awards including Time Magazine’s '25 Most Influential Americans' the National Center for Women in Technology 'Innovator of the Year', and San Francisco Business Journal’s 'Most Influential Women' and is a member of President Obama’s Innovation Advisory Board. Kim was the founding product manager and leader for Java's launch at Sun Microsystems in 1995.
