Westminster eForum: The future for the mobile market in the UK - consolidation, competition and regulation

THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED

This timely seminar is bringing together senior regulators and government officials with stakeholders to discuss issues at a key point in the development of the UK mobile market, focusing on consolidation, competition and regulation.

Discussion will focus on the impact of consolidation and other market factors on competition in the mobile market and the offer to consumers.

Delegates will also examine issues around technology and infrastructure rollout, including coverage, quality of service and network extension; and consider what further regulatory action might be needed to improve mobile services and support fair competition.

Further sessions assess the impact of Ofcom’s recent initial spectrum auction - aimed at increasing mobile broadband capacity for current users and paving the way for 5G - on the shape of the market, and will look ahead to the further 5G spectrum auction next year - exploring issues around 5G deployment, and opportunities for device and service innovation.
